Playing Outside....

I know I've told you all how much Maddie loves our dog Cody but I was able to snap some really cute pictures today to show you how much they love each other. Anytime we are outside playing Cody has all of her attention. She constantly squeals at him and says "dog" over and over again. He does really well with her too. I know he looks like a very large dog and maybe be a bit intimidating to some people because of his looks but he is a very sweet dog! He'll sneak up and give Maddie a little kiss on the cheek every once in awhile and she just giggles. Too cute! Here are a few pictures and a video from our playtime outside today! Enjoy!

Sunshine, Sneaky, and Sweet........

Sunshine.......Luckily, we have been able to spend a few afternoons outside enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. Maddie loves to play outside. She adores our dog, Cody, and really enjoys hanging out in her walker while watching him play. She laughs, points, squeals, and babbles at him the whole time!

He does manage to squeeze in a few licks on the cheek every once in awhile! :)

Sneaky........As I'm sure all of you who have children of your own know that when things get quiet around your house something's up! Between getting Maddie's dishes from lunch into the sink and moving a load of laundry into the dryer I noticed that something wasn't quite right. I didn't hear the sound of Maddie laughing, squealing, banging her toys on the kitchen floor, and she wasn't clinging to my leg......so this is what I found!!!.........

In that short amount of time she had crawled all the way back to her room, pulled open the bottom drawer of her dresser, and climbed right in!!! This is exactly how I found her! After a moment of amazement I just had to stand there and watch. It was just too cute to make her stop! She continued to pull all of her clothes out of the drawer and throw them on the floor...

...and boy was she proud!!!

:) She even had to stand up so she could admire her work!

Just think.....she's not even walking yet.....oh my!!

Sweet........Nana and Pop were able to join us for a couple of days and I snapped this PRECIOUS picture of Pop playing with Maddie! I'd say they both adore each other :)

Spring...are you coming???

I'm not sure about all of you but I know that our family is definitely ready for warm weather. It's been quite a while since my last post so I apologize. Things have been very busy around the Smith household! Just to catch you up, Maddie has been doing great. We have been experiencing the joys of teething the past couple of weeks so that has been a great deal of fun. She has 6 teeth now. Isn't that amazing? She will be 11 months old in 2 days and it is truly hard to believe. Josh and I have been planning her 1st birthday party and while it is a very joyful thought it is also quite sad to think our baby with be a year old. She has taken her first steps in the last week. She will take about two steps and then sit down. She gets so excited but she's not too confident about taking off too fast. That is perfectly fine with Mommy and Daddy! :) Below are a few pictures from the last month and I promise to blog again much sooner this time!!
