Christmas in Aliceville

We traveled to Aliceville on Christmas Day and let me tell you we had fun!! Maddie had no idea what she was in for!

She helped pass out all the presents once we arrived at Nana and Pop's house/

She also took a break every once in a while to climb over into her "jump-o-lene" that Uncle C got for her!!

This is the table and chair set that Pop made for Maddie. It is absolutely beautiful and something she will have forever.

We got to spend some time with Granny!!

Then we headed outside to try out Maddie's new Barbie Jeep!!

That night we headed to Grandmother and Papa's for lots of fun with the family.

Opening presents with all the cousins was chaos!!

Maddie loves her tea set from Grandmother and Papa!!

Snuggle time with Papa!!

Merry Christmas

Christmas Day started bright and early for us this year. I must say that seeing the magic of Christmas through your child's eyes is truly amazing. We made the most of this holiday season. We baked, painted, visited with Santa (twice), cut down our own Christmas tree, drove all over town looking at Christmas lights, stopped at every decoration of Santa we saw just to hear her call him "Ho", and on and on. I'll begin with Christmas morning....however I have a couple more posts coming soon with all of our Christmas season activities.

Santa was very good to us this year....Maddie must have been on the nice list!!

She became an expert at unwrapping presents and loved her trampoline!

Hanging out in the monkey tent!!

On our way to Nana and Pop's house we made a quick stop by Mam's house to wish her a very Merry Christmas. While we were there we got to hang out with our sweet little cousin, Kohen.

Next, we made the long drive over to Nana and Pop's house to open more presents!!

.....Maddie is awake so I'll finish this post tomorrow!!!

Christmas Parade

On the coldest night of the year thus far, we decided to attend the Christmas Parade! Boy, it was cold!! The parade was beautiful but the start time was delayed 40 minutes and I think it was probably just as long as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. All of these things combined made for a very pleasant experience!

This is the Christmas Tree in the center of downtown. It was quite a magical scene even though the picture doesn't do it justice.

Maddie adored all of the Christmas decorations and lights. She had to check them all out.

This picture is precious to me. She stared at this deer for the longest time. It was one of those moments where you would love to know what she's thinking.

She really love the star on top of the big tree. Here she is telling Daddy all about it.

As we waited patiently for the parade to start the cold weather really started to set in!

It was soooooo cold!!!

Maddie really did enjoy the parade for the most part. I think next year she'll really be into it and maybe it won't be so cold.

I wanted to share some pictures of the actual parade with all of you. As I said earlier in this post it was an extremely long parade but we saw some of the most interesting floats I have ever seen! Enjoy!

I didn't get a clear picture of it but a man dressed as a Christmas tree and is "skiing" on roller blades behind this boat!!

Thomas the Train

This was the Sheriff Department's float and that would be the Grinch in jail. Precious!!

This float was hilarious! I'm not really sure what its purpose was in the parade but it definitely gave us a good laugh!

This was my favorite!!!

O' Christmas Tree

One of my favorite childhood Christmas memories was traveling to the Christmas Tree Farm each year to pick out our tree. This year, Josh and I continued that tradition. We took Maddie to the Christmas Tree Farm in Harpersville, AL and had so much fun!

Maddie loved it! Her love for being outside made searching for the perfect tree all the more fun!

Once we found our tree, Maddie helped Daddy cut it down.....

and drag it to the front of the farm. She's such a big helper!

While Daddy took care of the tree, Maddie and I enjoyed a delicious candy cane.

This was definitely a sight! We did make it home with our tree though!

Now it's time to decorate!

She was amazed by the lights.

and finally....

....our Christmas tree. MerryChristmas and Happy Tree Trimming!!
